Fund-raising is a vital element in your financial commitment to Catholic Academy of Northern Valley. It is essential that all families participate, choosing their preferred option and plan from our Fund-raising Commitment Form. It is this fund-raising that allows us to keep the tuition at a lower rate. If you do not fulfill your fund-raising commitment, the unfulfilled portion will be added to your tuition charge at the end of the school year and you will not receive your child’s final report card or promotion notice until your financial obligations have been fulfilled. By the same token no transcripts or records for your child will be sent until your obligation is fulfilled.

There are two major adult fund-raisers yearly (children are not solicitors): the November Reverse Raffle and the Spring Dinner Show. Each school family is required to complete a ‘Fund-raising Commitment’ form (available at school office), which states dollar participation and requirements for volunteer services.

In addition, SCRIP (certificates to Shop Rite, A & P and a number of retailers) is required as part of tuition. These certificates generate a 3 - 15% rebate to the school of the total indicated on the certificate. Each school family is required to purchase or sell $6000 worth of scrip over 52 weeks in the calendar year. The value of the certificate is the exact dollar amount that you pay for the certificate. There is no out-of-pocket payment for this fund-raiser. Everyone buys food and other items at the various chain stores. This is your opportunity to keep tuition costs down as you do your regular weekly food shopping. Once again, if you do not fulfill this part of your fund-raising commitment, the unfulfilled portion will be added to your tuition charge at the end of the school year with the same consequences as mentioned above.

Market SCRIP raises funds for additional projects and programs. Over seventy department stores, retailers, restaurants, entertainment opportunities, hotels, travel and phone companies in our area offer discounts from 2 - 17% to the organization purchasing the Market SCRIP. This generates additional funds for the school without any out-of-pocket funds on the part of our purchasers. Families who purchase Market SCRIP actively provide a steady source of revenue for the school.
